“One day all of this will be proof, proof that we were here, proof that we loved each other.” She was really a great mother figure for the girls to lean own, and it made my heart so happy to see that. **spoiler** I really love Trina as a character, especially her relationship with Kitty. He continuously encourages his daughters to pursue and stay connected to their Korean heritage, and I felt so happy in this book because he finds a love of his own. Lara Jean’s dad is one of the best dads in YA fiction, up there with Pai from The Way You Make Me Feel. Reading each book has honestly made me feel like I’m part of the family itself, and I just love how they’re an integral part of the story. However, they continuously communicated and tried to work through it, learning to trust each other more and lean on each other in times of need.Īnd as always, part of what makes the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series amazing is the Song-Covey family. We saw that throughout the first and second book when there were misunderstandings, doubts, and other obstacles that many romantic relationships may face. Lara Jean and Peter’s romance definitely isn’t perfect. 😭❤️ In terms of romance, this book gave me a lot of hope. I felt so incredibly emotional and nostalgic throughout this book, and from chapter to chapter, Jenny Han crafted a story that had me squealing, worrying, laughing, and longing. I don’t know why but rereading this trilogy really had me all up in my ~feels~.

I remember I felt so scared and emotional when senior year was coming to a close because I didn’t know what to expect the rest of my future to look like. The overall tone of the story just felt so much more mature. I think Jenny Han did a phenomenal job of capturing all the worries and stress the typical student faces, especially when it comes to leaving what’s comfortable and facing the unknown. Her and Peter are finally together and stronger than ever, and entering the fall semester, they’re faced with the traditional HS-student worries of applying to colleges and the big, scary, and uncertain F U T U R E. Always and Forever, Lara Jean focuses on Lara Jean’s journey throughout her senior year of high school.
